United Geophysical (Nigeria) Limited is Nigeria’s oldest oil service company having began operations in the western Niger Delta in the early 1960’s and incorporated as a limited liability company in 1971.
The company has over 60 years of continuous operations specialising in land/desert, swamp, urban and transition zone, 2D, 3D and 4D seismic data acquisition and has conducted seismic surveys for all the major oil companies operating in Nigeria.
The primary objective of United Geophysical (Nigeria) Ltd (UGNL) is to provide clients with the highest quality geophysical service possible in the safest and most cost-efficient manner, using the latest technology, whilst maintaining excellent community relations and with minimum disruption to the environment. In doing so UG(N)L aims to continue to be the leading provider of seismic data acquisition services in Nigeria.
PIONEERS IN THE DEPLOYMENT OF NODAL RECORDING WITHIN NIGERIA AND WEST AFRICA
In 2018 UG(N)L pioneered the deployment of nodal recording onshore in Nigeria. It’s success paved the way for further investment in the latest generation of nodal recording instrumentation and a fleet of Univibe vibrators. This enabled UG(N)L to undertake projects previously considered impossible.

Our commitment and expertise has led to the successful acquisition of more than 175Km of 2D data and over 11,000Km2 of 3D & 4D data across 37 prospect areas in Nigeria.
Today the company maintains its head office in Lagos, Nigeria from where all operations and support functions are managed.
